Health
MARCH 28-APRIL 22 | FORT CHIPEWYAN
Part 1: Week 1 and 2
This part takes place at the school with the artists present and leading the process physically. Theatre artists and a videographer will work with students to create videos on the health themes. The students will perform in the videos, help create the scripts, gather props and costumes and help with the choreography. Older students will help with the shoot. Videos will be shot in multiple locations in the community and the school. As well, many of the pieces created will be shot using Green Screen technology. This will allow students to go inside the body to point out and discover the cause and effect of habits that either support or weaken the human body. For example, using green screen images of the lungs, students will be able to go in and explore the lungs and point out the effects of smoking, or into the mouth to look at tooth decay.
All of the students in the school will be in the videos.
Part 1 will end with a showing at the school of some of the video clips for the school and community. These clips will be mixed with live commentary by students, school and clinic staff as well as Elders.
Part 2: Week 3 and 4.
This part takes place via Zoom calls.
The Artists and videographer will work with the students via zoom calls to edit the footage. Trickster will supply the school with short term licences to the video editing software that the Athabasca Delta School – Page 2 of 6 company uses. The Trickster artists will teach the students how to edit, using the footage shot in Part 1 of the program.
Post Residency
The school will hold a Gala showing of the video pieces. They will be shown for many months in the Nunee health clinic waiting room TV.
