Carbon - Our Roots and Our Wings

For our project with Trickster, we will create a show based on the theme “Carbon- Our Roots and Our Wings”. Prior to our residency week, we will study the history of Carbon through the use of our Carbon History Book, interviews with seniors that grew up in the community, and connections with community groups such as the Carbon and Area Restoration Society. The latter maintains a museum in the village of Carbon
(https://www.unlockthepast.ca/places/Carbon-Museum_8608) whose vision is to share the rich history of our community. Through this research students will learn of our local history and be prepared to work with Trickster Theatre. During this pre-residency time, we will work with Trickster to organize not only the stories to be told, but will schedule in the participation of community members as musicians, storytellers and actors.
