As we are celebrating our 40th birthday next year, we see the Trickster residency as an avenue to reflect on how we started as a school and where we would like to go. Trickster’s Roots and Wings theme connects well to what we envision. This theme would allow us to explore the history of Airdrie, dig in to stories about the past, gain a greater understanding of the local heroes from our community and imagine what the future will be like for our city. We also see this as a way to dig a little deeper into our namesake, R.J. Hawkey. We also want our students to focus on their future and how they can become active citizens in their local and global community. To do this we will have classes envision 40 things they could do for Airdrie to make it a better place. Some of those ideas will be presented in the show, and some of them will be actually implemented in the town after the residency.
